Welcome
Kells Lane Primary School
I am proud and immensely privileged to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant and dynamic school. Kells Lane Primary School is a very special place to work and having worked here for the past 16 years, I know and understand our school community extremely well. Our parents are aspirational for their children; they work in partnership with school and value education.
The pupils at Kells Lane are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on offering a warm, nurturing and inclusive school where all children can achieve. Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions to make. The experiences children have in primary school will stay with them for the rest of lives and we aim to nurture in all children a lifelong love of learning. Here at Kells Lane, we work in partnership with families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Our school website contains a wealth of information about our school including the values and ethos that underpin all that we do. You may also find our weekly newsletters a useful way of finding out more about school life as well as following us on our school Facebook account Click Here. Should you have any further questions or would like to visit the school, please contact our main school office, who will be happy to help.

What our parents and carers say about us - (Parent & Carer Survey 2025/26)
We have been so impressed by Kells Lane School since our son started last September. The staff that we have met so far have all been extremely approachable, positive and professional and have clearly worked hard to make the start to his school life really enjoyable. We have also frequently remarked on how warm and welcoming the environment is upon entering the school.
Kells Lane is a great school, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, it is an asset to Low Fell.
Our children are really happy and settled at school and we’re proud to be part of the Kells Lane family. The staff are wonderful and the children are so privileged to have access to such an exciting curriculum and varied extra-curricular programme.
I love Kells Lane Primary - there is such a wonderful ethos and attitude to learning. I have always been impressed by how the teachers know my children - they have all seen the positives of enthusiasm and helped shape that into constructive learning. Mutual respect is a given, as opposed to overly behaviourist/paternalistic ways and that allows children to reach their potential as themselves. I chose Kells Lane due to the lack of homework in the earlier years - I see the pressure other young children are under and appreciate that the school focuses on fostering a love of learning rather than homework (especially given that there is no evidence, beyond reading, that homework improves academic attainment anyway).
Very lucky to have such a fantastic school with staff who genuinely care about the students. Thank you to all staff for always going above and beyond to help and nurture our kids and give them the best start!
